Terms of service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of examninja.io, the ExamNinja Chrome extension, accounts, AI study features, free tools, and paid subscriptions (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are under the age at which you can consent to online services where you live, a parent, guardian, school, or other authorized adult must approve your use. You are responsible for the security of your email account and ExamNinja session and for activity performed through them. Tell us promptly at hello@examninja.io if you believe your account has been compromised.

Permitted study use

ExamNinja is provided for permitted study, practice, homework assistance, explanation, and answer-checking. Your course, instructor, school, employer, assessment provider, and device administrator may impose rules that are stricter than these Terms; you are responsible for following them.

You may not:

• use the Service on an assessment where outside assistance is prohibited;
• use it to defeat or interfere with proctoring, secure browsers, monitoring, access controls, or academic-integrity safeguards;
• submit confidential assessments, stolen material, personal records, credentials, or content you do not have permission to process;
• evade quotas or security controls, automate abusive requests, probe the Service for vulnerabilities, introduce malicious code, or disrupt other users;
• resell, copy, reverse engineer, or create a competing service from ExamNinja except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
• use the Service in violation of law or another person’s rights.

AI results and browser actions

AI-generated answers, explanations, page analysis, and proposed actions may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for your course. You must review results and verify important work against course materials or another authoritative source. ExamNinja does not guarantee grades, learning outcomes, platform compatibility, or that an answer will be accepted.

Some results can include an optional “apply to page” action. You decide whether to use it and remain responsible for reviewing the question, result, and any resulting page changes before submission. ExamNinja does not control third-party learning-platform records or assessment behavior.

Free access and usage limits

Free allowances, anonymous previews, supported features, and limits may vary or change. A request may be counted when the Service successfully returns a result. You may not create accounts, rotate identifiers, or use automation to avoid a limit.

Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

ExamNinja Pro may be offered as a monthly or annual subscription through Stripe. Before purchase, Stripe Checkout displays the price, currency, billing interval, and applicable tax. By completing checkout, you authorize Stripe to charge the selected payment method at purchase and at each renewal until cancellation.

You can manage the payment method or cancel through the Stripe customer portal linked in the extension. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally leaves paid access active through the current billing period shown in the portal. Deleting an ExamNinja account attempts to cancel an active subscription, but you should confirm the cancellation status in the portal or with us.

Except where law requires otherwise or a specific written offer says otherwise, charges already paid are non-refundable. Contact hello@examninja.io promptly if you believe a charge is incorrect. We may change future prices or plan features with notice appropriate to the change; a price change will not alter a completed billing period.

Your content and permission to process it

You retain any rights you have in content you submit. You give ExamNinja and its service providers a limited permission to host, transmit, transform, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the Service as described in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.

ExamNinja software and intellectual property

ExamNinja and its licensors retain rights in the Service, software, design, branding, and documentation. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

Third-party services and learning platforms

The Service depends on third parties including Chrome, learning platforms, AI providers, Cloudflare, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, and analytics services. Their terms and policies may also apply. We do not control third-party availability, page changes, records, decisions, or content, and we are not affiliated with supported learning platforms unless explicitly stated.

Suspension, termination, and account deletion

You may stop using the Service at any time and can delete your account in extension settings. We may limit or suspend access to protect the Service, investigate abuse or fraud, address non-payment, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive.

Changes and availability

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features and supported sites. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. If we materially change these Terms, we will post the revised version and update the effective date. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing here excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ExamNinja will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of grades, coursework, data, profits, or opportunity; third-party platform actions; reliance on AI output; or consequences of prohibited use. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of operating or transferring the Service. Applicable mandatory law remains controlling.
